You cannot take the NCLEX RN unless you have graduated from an RN program. Just an random, non-nursing associate's degree and LPN does not meet that criteria. So, in Ivy Tech-land, you have to complete that bridge program to sit for the RN NCLEX.
She is asking about graduating from Ivy Tech's LPN program but not taking the NCLEX-LPN. Then going through their ASN program and take NCLEX-RN.
OP- the answer is no. Ivy tech has a LPN program, an ASN program, and an LPN-ASN program. The key part of the LPN-ASN program is being an LPN. If you do not take and pass NCLEX-LPN, you are not an LPN and can not continue onto the LPN-ASN program.

Hello! I finally got accepted into the Fall 2018 LPN program at Ivy Tech. Do you have to take the NCLEX-PN to bridge into ASN? Can you wait until you get associates to then take the NCLEX-RN exam?
