Just getting started

Published

I was reading through the threads but I did not see anyone starting this Fall 08. I will be starting this Fall 08 and would like to have any other new students join me with online chat. We will have many ups and downs. This way we can help one another. :yeah:

Glad to hear some of you had a full course load while taking ANP! I signed up for summer classes and will now be taking my math and psych in the summer, and english and ANP in the fall. Depending on how I do in ANP1, I might take 3 classes for the Spring semester.

And someone asked about taking the TEAS before pre reqs are done, in my information packet it says you can take it before, but its suggested to wait, or at least have taken ANP1 before you take it. But that's at my school, I don't know about others!

ANP.....you don't need that so much for the TEAS. Mine only had one ANP question and it asked which organ makes insulin. Pancreas.

The other science questions were high school stuff. Basic physics, a couple chem, etc. Definitely get the study guide and brush up on math. Mainly percents, fractions, a few metric conversions. The study guide will help you tremendously. A lot of it is just basic knowledge and if you have good logic/reasoning skills you will be fine. ANP is not a must though.

I'm starting on my prereq's this summer! I already did one year of college under a different major so between the pre reqs and other recommended general ed classes I only have six classes I need to take. I'm doing three this summer and the other three this fall. I wish our nursing program took applicants in the spring but sadly they don't so I too am looking to getting in the fall 09 program. I'm doing an ASN program.

Hello all. I'm starting an ADN program here in Ft. Worth, TX this August(2008) and couldn't be more excited about it.

Congrats to all fellow nursing students either currently in NS or about to begin your programs! Also, congrats to all you FUTURE nursing students starting or currently taking pre-reqs.:yeah:

I would highly suggest taking summer school. I love summer classes. The material comes at you fast (INTENSELY at times) but thats how I learn best. I took all my sciences over the summer and ended up w/ a 3.5 GPA on the 4 classes. Micro/Chem/AnP1/AnP2 (2-A's, 2-B's)

PLUS if you think for one second that nursing school is going to be kicked back and relaxed, your crazy!?!

Also, I had several AnP questions on my TEAS exam, so I guess everyone's test is different.

Either way, all the prereqs needed at my school are good introductory

materials to what we will be studying and applying towards the nursing practice.

Congrats again to everyone!

Best of luck to all y'all!:nuke:
