So i just finished up the GRE today and i can honestly say it was definitely more stressful than anticipated. But i ended up scoring a solid 1380, v:660 q:720, so i'm pleased with the 2 month study plan, and the hard work paid dividends. Anyways, i just wanted to get that off my chest
If anyone has questions about the GRE feel free to ask. I can also suggest some study material (basically went through all the books)

Wow, great job! What book do you recommend if I only get one? Would you mind outlining the "2 month study plan"?

Nice job! And yes, it pays off studying for the GRE.
Not studying is just a waste of time and money.

Congratulations on your score! I am scheduled to take it in two weeks but I don't think I am ready. How did you prepare? Which study material do you think was best? Did you memorize all the words?
If i could only choose one book, i think far and away the princeton review was the best. I attribute 95 percent of my score to princeton review and kaplan gre vocab in a box.
I wasnt necessarily on a rigid study plan but what i did was i started memorizing all 500 gre kaplan vocab words, and when i was done with those i started on the math portion. Looking back i would probably reccommend starting with math while trying to learn 10-20 new words a week.
Once done with reviewing the math continue doing practice problems (so u can make sure u can do all different types of say factoring or weird geometry problems) but start gearing it up and memorizing vocab words. Practice reading comprehensions. Such as, practicing how to read fast and pick out the important info while browsing over the non important stuff.
Basically if you can memorize 600-800 gre vocab words you will score well on the verbal.
Do about 300-400 math problems and you'll score at least 700. The math is by far easier to score high on, therefore u should shoot for at least a 700. It is VERY attainable and will make a big difference on your overall score.
Also download GRE power prep. It is a free program from ETS who runs the GRE. That is by far the best indicator for how you will actually score!
Id skip the ets gre big book (old paper based tests)
Barrons was only alright. A little dissapointed
Kaplans book was only so so as well
REA is kinda a mix between princeton and kaplan.
Basically the princeton tells u only what u need to know in very easy to understand directions and gives some great tips on the math section like "plugging it in"
hope this helps and good luck. With some effort a 1400 is very attainable!
sorry if this doesnt make the most sense just got off a 20 hours shift where they slammed me the last 10 hours with a third patient on the CVICU i work on!
