Just completed TEAS V

Published

I just completed the TEAS V. My Individual score was 82% which put me in the 91% percentile overall. My Science was 97% and my math was 93%. Apparently I suck at English/Grammar. For all of you over achiever type A's, like myself, if you are struggling with not making the usual 96% on your test, try to put it behind you. The test is desiged so that very few people to excel. I suppose that is one of the reasons they eliminate 20 questions randomly. That can either work in your favor or against you. But I digress......

I did want to offer a suggestion for anyone that struggles with math. My recommendation is to log onto Khanacademy.org, the website is outstanding. Video's with a wonderful teacher and tests at the end of the video. He also covered every science topic you could imagine. Its the only website you will need for Math and science.

Its also free, no joke. This guy left the teaching world and created his own virtual teaching class, he is now endorsed and supported by Bill Gates to continue his outstanding work. My daughter uses this website frequently to help her with math and science concepts that she doesn't understand while in class.

I am taking my test next Friday and I am not really worried about English or Reading. My main worry is science. What kind of stuff was on the Science portion? What should I study in regards to science? How did you study for this test? How long did you spend on study? Sorry for all these questions but I am in need to desperate help.

I've seen a lot of mention of this TEAS test on here... who has to take it and why? just curious.

Hello: I took my TEAS V this past Saturday, and considering I did not study (maybe 20 minutes at the most) I think I did pretty decent....88% on the reading, 90% in the math, 80% on the english...however my science was in the mid 50's, but this still put my adjusted score at a 77% which is proficient. In other words, as far as your science goes, STUDY STUDY STUDY!! Topics were on there such as chemistry (ex: formula for salt, periodic table, etc). Potential vs. Kinetic energy, earth science (photosynthesis), basic anatomy (ex: function of lymphatic system, reproduction) and basic scientific reasoning. Thats about all I can remember. I am essentially good at the other topics, but as far as the math goes, know your fractions, and decimals. I was able to run across a few practice exams for the teas, if you go on Google and type in "SAMPLE TEAS V EXAMS" they will bring up some good links....also this is a good link:

also, I cant stress enough EAT BREAKFAST BEFORE YOU GO, AND GET PLENTY OF REST! This is especially important considering you will be staring at a computer screen for 3 1/2 hours...let me know if you have any more questions. Good luck!

thank you so much for this great info! did you use the ati study guide to study for this? was there any plate tectonics or rock questions? or weather questions? for chemistry were there any radioactivity questions? or was it pretty basic

Hello aikidotchr and MARTINIQUE2

Did you purchase and practice ATI online exam? If you did how similar is the science portion to the exam that you did? Is it more similar to the ATI book practice test or the online practice test?

Hey, if you dont mind me asking. What school are you attending? It's refreshing to see someone who didn't make 80% or above still get accepted :yeah:! Did you have a high GPA?
