I am just starting my 4th semester in an AAS program through UAA, and wondered which NCLEX test prep book best helped everyone thourought the semester and prepare for the NLCEX? I know there are tons of threads on this, but scrolling through them all is super time consuming, as a student, I don't have time, lol! Our 4th semester includes The Staff Nurse, Med-Suge II, and Psych Nursing. Any tips, advice, usefull website or other resources are very appreciated!!
Thanks!

I would really suggest taking the HURST NCLEX_RN review course if it is offered in your area. I just took the NCLEX june 5, 2013 and passed with 75 questions!
Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN Examination 5e is a really great book as well! It comes with a CD with lots of practice questions :)
Hope this helps!

I like Hurst Reviews also. I would master Hurst Reviews core content. I would listen to Feuer when I am driving around or doing anything that does not require a lot of attention. I would listen to the med surg videos over and over again. I liked the Feuer pharm videos also as I had trouble in pharm.

Congratulations on passing!
Did you find Hurst beneficial? I have really been looking into doing the review (online) when I graduate (December 2013) as a content refresher.
When I was in school, I had trouble with advance med surg - (almost failed) so I did Hurst Review for advance med surg where I aced the last test and final, and Feuer for my exit exam. My grades were never that good in school B -C, but when I took the exit exam I passed with 98%. So these were the tools that I used, and I did 1500 test questions on ATI as required. So Hurst Review was excellent for me while I was in school. It was the reason I was able to fly through my exit exam as it was all critical thinking. I concentrated on learning the core content and pharm.

During school I used Saunders. When we entered the last class of the last semester of the program we then were given access to the Kaplan online program.
I used Kaplan exclusevely once we had access to it.
I just took my NCLEX and passed, first time.

I thought Hurst very beneficial and the content was excellent. On NCLEX it is impossible to know all the possible content, so you also have to have good test taking strategies. I was a nervous wreck, but i didn't find the test to be "too bad".
GOOD LUCK! You will do fine!
How well did you go over Hurst material. For example the 5th day material? Did you focus on it or just review it quickly?
I went over the psych drugs, pain meds, and insulin charts,..... i would also go over transmission precautions.

There is a nclex study guide found on allnurses that is pretty helpful to read :)

a few words of encouragement, I never did extremely well on the HESIs we had to take in nursing school, got only 904 on the exit HESI , and passed the NCLEX on the first try, so it is very possible!
