Just Arrived in St. Louis from California

Published

What is it like to work as a Missouri nurse? In California nurses are oppressed, and have little to look forward to in their careers. Missouri seems to be progressive. There is no higher pay for a BSN nurse, vice a diploma / ADN. That holds true in California, and as far as I can tell the same is true here in Missouri.

I would like to work as nurse again, but I'm not willing to put up with abuse and violence from MD's. Are these workplace issues a problem here in St. Louis?

What kind of unions are here. To me it is an insult for nurses to be represented by a food service workers union. Are the unions for nurses only, out here?

What are some of the best places to work in St. Louis? BJH has great reviews.

I have 15 years in nursing. Med-surg, PACU & L&D. Former military nurse with 10 years in the navy.

Tell me about St. Louis. I'm half excited, as you can tell California did not do me any good. Please be truthful about the working conditions. I see many job openings for RN's out here, and I have to wonder about the turnover.

Thanks,

SueBee
