Hi everyone,

I was looking through allnurses to try and find a discussion board about the July 2019 Cohort for THR's Versant residency, but could not find one- so I decided to make one!

I'm curious to see how everyone else is doing with their application processes, and hope we can offer updates for one another.

I spoke with a recruiter today and she mentioned that the Gyn/Onc position had been canceled, and that there was only one position available for L&D. She said that internal candidates are also a major factor.

I just got a rejection email for High Risk OB as well. It’s discouraging ?

I applied for the L&D Arlington position too though, but haven’t got a response from that yet.

Applied to around 19 of the residencies and so far I’ve been “not selected for further consideration” on 17 of the positions and not even been given a chance at an interview. Has it been the same for everyone? I’m unsure what to do at this point.

I was notified that I wasnt selected for Texas Health either so I feel you! I also have yet to hear back from other hospitals and am still waiting, Ive applied to a lot of residencies as well so im assuming we just have to keep waiting. Im not from here/know how these hospitals work so idk what to do either if I dont start hearing back from these units

@GabrielleMW Unfortunately I'm in the same situation as you. Not sure what to do.. have you applied for Medical City positions?

Sucks :( but yeah ive applied to Medical City Dallas, Methodist, Baylor, and Parkland so im hoping at least one of those places gets back to me cause so far ive heard nothing! what about you?

@GabrielleMW Ugh me too.... I'm really hoping we hear back soon... I just feel like it's getting too late. I couldn't find any other hospitals in DFW that have residencies or accept new grads. I went to school in San Antonio, but I didn't think it would be this difficult to get into the DFW area.. :(

I totally feel you!! Im from Virginia and moved here in January after I graduated in December and didnt know I had to apply to the February residencies way back in September so now that im applying for the July residencies I really hope I get into one cause I feel behind as it is!

@GabrielleMW Same girl same.. I wish I'd known that DFW applications were open way earlier.. but definitely feeling super behind! Most of my application status' for all the places I applied to still say that they're reviewing candidates soo.. I guess it's not too late?
