July Abrazo New Grad Program

My wife has applied to this program and just waiting to hear back ya or nay on a possible interview. She did talk to someone at a job fair a few months back that told her Abrazo will not consider ADN so we just wait and see. No luck for her thus far in the Phoenix area.

They won't even consider ADN RN's?! Wow!!

Did you wife complete an ADN program or a BSN program?? And yeah, it's rough for us new grads right now

She has an ADN from GCC this past December 2011. She also has a BS-Medical Technologist. She is a bit frustrated and has applied everywhere and for every type of RN position you can think of but no luck just yet. If I didn't have such a good job as I do we would probably move back to Iowa were new grad RN's can find work easily. My wife did work for Banner as a Phlebotomist but resigned to concentrate on her school. She went in and talked to the Nurse Recruiter and she told my wife that most of their new grad positions are filled internally. I think she will just have to not get so discouraged and continue to apply until something finally breaks thru.

Yeah, I am definitely regretting not working as a PCT during nursing school. Our professors encouraged us to concentrate on our studies, so that is what I did. I graduated with a 3.79 GPA and haven't had a single interview - while classmates who barley made it through the program (literally), but worked at hospitals, are employed as RN's...............................

Well best of luck to your wife!! Will you let me know when/if she hears anything from Abrazo?? The waiting game is SO horrible!!!

Before i finish this RN program i will be looking for a spot somewhere

I've applied for this opportunity also. The posting says they will be contacting candidates at the end of this month for interviews, so it shouldn't be too long before we know something. :nurse:

I know of two people who have gotten the dreaded "Thanks, but no thanks" email for the program. I am crossing my fingers that it is a good sign that I haven't gotten an email yet...........................................

Really? Already? I check the status of my application everyday, so far so good. I applied for the January program, but didn't get an interview. I'm going to stay positive though, and hope for the best this time. Best of luck to you, I know how discouraging the new grad job hunt is. :nurse:

I applied for the January program as well and didn't get an interview either ~ not that it would have mattered because I didn't take the NXLEX until February anyway.

Yeah, this is the most frustrating/discouraging thing I have ever experienced. My application status still hasn't changed, so I am praying that I might get a call!! And good luck to you as well!!

I've applied for this. A few people from my graduating class got accepted into the January one, and they love it. Abrazo has treated them very well and they enjoyed their training. I graduated in December 2011 with my BSN and I've been job searching since March with not much luck.

I did speak with one of the recruiting people in March, and he said that for the upcoming new grad academy, only BSNs were going to be considered. However, on the application it said "BSN preferred." So...who knows?
