JU, UNF, UF, UCF, and USF ABSN Applicants for 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

I know I am a little bit early to be posting about ABSN programs beginning in 2017, but I am almost done with my prerequisites and am getting excited to start applying to programs!! I am interested in applying to Jacksonville University, University of North Florida, University of South Florida, University of Central Florida, and University of Florida. Is there anyone else out there who is interested in applying to any of these programs? I would also love to hear information or opinions about the programs from anyone who currently attends or has graduated from any of these programs!

I am applying to Summer 2017 at UCF and UF... and if those don't work out, Spring 2017 at USF. I just sent in all the remaining documentation for UCF general application this weekend. I am getting kind of nervous. I am a UF alum, but my bachelors GPA isn't outrageously stellar (3.4). My masters is 4.0 and my pre-reqs are going to be pretty close to that... but I'm still stressed. I have to take the TEAS still, but I took the GRE around 8 years ago and did well so I'm wondering if they will accept those scores as supplement. I wonder when they send acceptance letters.

Hello!

I think that having an MS is likely a major plus for any program. When considering who to accept, I believe that they want to accept those they believe will succeed and finish the program. So, since you have already completed 2 degrees, it is likely that you have good work ethic and will not drop out of the program.

I am in a similar situation with an MS and I am also a UF alum for both of my degrees. From what I have seen in the other UF ABSN forums, they do seem to favor UF alum. For those who were accepted to start the summer of 2016, I believe that they received letters in March. I got that information from the UF ABSN 2016 Hopefuls thread.

I have been accepted to Santa Fe's ASN program and will start in January. However, I am still applying to the UF program as an option.

I hope this helped and good luck!

Has anyone applied to JU?
