JU Jacksonville University ABSN summer 2019

Published

Hey everyone,

I recently had my interview and I’m just anxiously waiting until March 8th when decisions come out. I saw that no one made a page for summer 2019 so I decided to make one and hope others see this!

Hello I too interviewed last week and can not wait to hear back next week!

How did your interview go? I was so nervous I feel like my answers was shaky lol. What did you think of the essay? Do you think it is super important in their decision process?

I believe my interview went well. I was nervous for the first 2 questions but after that I felt confident. But in those you never know. you could feel like you did great and it was awful or vis versa. I thought the essay could have gone so many different ways. I think they just wanted to see if you knew anything about healthcare today in the US. I currently work in an ER so it was easy for me to think of two topics but for anyone who doesn’t work in health care it was probably hard. I don’t think the essay ways that’s much. I think what really matters was the interview and how you are in group setting and around new people because that’s basically was nursing is. Between patients, doctors, pas, and other nurses you are constantly interacting with others. I’m hopefully to hear good news on Friday but you never know. What did you think of the interview and essay?

The interview was way more calm than how I expected it to be , I also thought they were going to give more behavioral and situational question ( I’m glad they didn’t) but it wasn’t as dreadful as I imagined. The essay wasn’t bad, I came up with what I thought was good answers. Part of me hopes that if I didn’t do as well as I thought in the interview the essay could help make up for it. I’m just anxiously waiting for the decisions since I was denied from my back up school. That rejection just have me on edge, and hoping I get a good result from JU

I am the same way, I applied to two schools and got denied from one so I am really hopeful JU works out. hopefully the week will go by fast!!! I think they will look at the interview heavily and then the essay and then the admission material like application and references next. But I can’t remember exactly what they said they look at in detail. Fingers crossed ??

Hey I was just reading previous years comments so I looked up this year. I am nervous because my background isn’t in healthcare but I am a current student at JU finishing pre reqs and minors. My degree is in Interior Design. I think the interviews went well, however everyone in my group responded to the questions relating it to healthcare because they are all in it to some degree. I had to vary my answers based on work, school, and family life. It does get me nervous. I think I did well on the essay but wish I had more time to re read it and fix stuff but you know. My GPA is decent but got straight A’s on all my pre reqs so I hope it is enough. What other schools did you apply to?

Same here, I work in retail so I didn’t have any experience in the healthcare field. I applied to UF and JU only, I wish I applied to more but these two were the only two I was interested in since I wanna stay in Jax.

Also, three more days until we can hear something back

Hey guys, I'm still waiting for my results to get back as well! I honestly thought I was going to perform MUCH better on my interview. Unfortunately I let my nerves get the best of me. My experience was a bit different than you guys', because I live on the West Coast and my interview was over the phone (not skype), with just one person & not a group interview. The person interviewing me seemed to be really impressed with just one of my answers- other than that, there was no feedback lol I wish you guys the best of luck!! please keep us posted haha

@nikkiiii oh that’s a bummer. I mean my group didn’t get feed back but got smiles and laughs so I hope that is something. So you did a phone call? Me and my group could 67 people off their roster list. So I’m wondering how many people did phone interviews. They said there was 150 being interviewed so 1/3 of a chance of getting in is kinda a bummer. Well ?? . Why Jacksonville University if you don’t mind me asking?

So what is your degree in if you work retail? Just curious. I mean they love diversity it is part of their mission statement so I’m hope that means backgrounds as well as everything else
