JTCC Spring 2017 RN Program

Published

Hello, I would like to hear from others that applied to the 2017 JTCC RN program. What has your experience been like thus far? How well did you do on your TEAS V? ( I am very nervous about my score as I didnt do as well as I had hoped.) I got a 68% on overall with a 3.0 GPA and I applied for both tracks. I hope to hear something soon!

Hi, I also applied, but only for the traditional track so I hope that wasn't a mistake! My GPA is a 3.5 and my TEAS V is 80%. I read on other threads here that the response could be 6-8 weeks out.

So I am now freaking out after spending the last hour plus reading other people's scores and GPA's, and not being accepted. It looks like the program is extremely competitive and that the TEAS are more important than the GPA. I didn't apply to any other nursing school so I am really hoping to get into JTCC. I am 4 credits away from receiving my associate of science (pre-bsn) after this semesters classes, and already have a bachelor's degree (arts) that I obtained in 2007; I am really hoping that it gives me an upper hand. My personal statement could have probably been stronger, I answered the question about why I wanted to pursue nursing and it was about 1 1/2 pages long. I hope more people chime in about their cumulative GPA and TEAS V score so we can see how competitive our scores really are!

can you please tell me how to find the thread? I searched for Schools College programs but didn't come up with anything- sorry I am new here!

nevermind! Good Lord this whole forum thing may take me awhile! sorry

It sounds like you have a good score from what I've heard from previous students, my score is what makes me so nervous. Best of luck to you! Jtcc is also the only school I've applied to.

Do you know other students who have applied and what their gpa and TEAS scores were? I don't know anyone that has applied...

Yes scores were between 80-90% and gpas netween 3.0-4.0

So those are students who have applied for this admission session, or are those who have applied prior and gotten in? Some other people in other threads had higher scores than me and didn't get in which concerns me. I may end up having to re-take the TEAS and it is a new version this year, although I have heard that this year they will allow calculators which would help me as math is what I scored the lowest on and I took it before I had taken my math pre-reqs.

Previous applicants that have gotten in in previous years. Yeah I saw that in some threads to I'm not sure if it's just something they didn't complete or if it was a GPA issue I'm not sure because usually if the teas score is really high you have a really good chance of getting in and I'm talking eighties and above. If I dont get in I will be retaking the new version and applied to the next program start.

FYI: I just found out that letters should go out mid-October or sooner but not later (seems like a long time when it was said to be 4-6 weeks from deadline in the program info) and there are about 140 applicants. I am not sure how many applicants there have been in previous years so I don't know if this is a lot.
