JTCC Spring 2017 RN Program

Published

Hello, I would like to hear from others that applied to the 2017 JTCC RN program. What has your experience been like thus far? How well did you do on your TEAS V? ( I am very nervous about my score as I didnt do as well as I had hoped.) I got a 68% on overall with a 3.0 GPA and I applied for both tracks. I hope to hear something soon!

Hi all. I applied to both tracks. I'm super nervous because I think I wrote a very long personal statement, 4 pages! I didn't do too well on TEAS, only managed a 76%. I have a 4 GPA. I read somewhere that they consider TEAS first, and also give priorities to residents. I'm very very nervous. I don't know how many people applied this time but I know that admission depends on number of people. Please keep sharing. I wish everyone all the best :)

Thank you! Best of luck to you as well. It looks like they have about 140 applicants and are only accepting 80 students.

So excited to finally see posts on here for the Spring session. I'm pulling my hair out (literally) waiting, so I'm sure by October that I'll be completely bald. I applied for Hybrid only - I work in the banking industry (for the past 13 years) and plan to continue to work as long as possible. My GPA is 4.0 and scored overall a 75 on TEAS - 96 in Math though. Sucked at Science but am chalking that up to my 16 year absence from school. Please keep updating if you ladies hear anymore!

Are these numbers available on the website?

I know the wait is the worst! I plan on working as well, I hope you get in! :)

The numbers as far as how many applied and how many spots they are filling, I had to call/email to find out so they are straight from the source.

Oh man! That is a lot of applicants. A couple girls from my classes this semester have applied and they all feel scared that they won't get in. A student told me that last application letters came out saying that they didn't accept anyone with a TEAS below a 90. I will be so discouraged if I have to retake my TEAS. I already know 2-3 students with higher TEAS scores than myself. At least we will know by the end of October- I am definitely nervous nervous nervous as I don't have a back up plan in place.

Compared to previous intakes, I think we have a lower number. I have seen on this site where there were 300 applicants and they were only taking 70.

Yea it definitely does seem like we have better chances being that they are choosing 80 of us. I wish more applicants would be willing to share their scores to get a general idea of where we stand.

Is anyone else anxiety ridden and stressed about this process? I think this is the most stressful thing wait for acceptance/denial. Goodness I need a distraction. If anyone has any info they would like to share in regards to the 2017 program please do! :)

I feel like waiting until October might actually kill me. But maybe since we have less applicants this cycle, it won't take so long to go through them all and send out responses sooner. I don't feel too bad about my TEAS score or my GPA or my statement. My biggest fear is that my transcripts didn't go through in time. I already have a Bachelor's and post-bac classes, but they still insisted on the high school transcript. Which got mailed out of a po-dunk place on the coast, where mail is super slow. So here I sit, biting my nails.

I called the Nursing Center yesterday (just couldn't wait any longer) and the person stated that they have not met yet to determine the qualified applicants. It will be another couple of weeks before notification is given. Do they not know that I am stir crazy by this point? I'm really excited to get this show on the road. LOL

wow I cannot believe they haven't even met yet. We definitely won't know until late October then.... ugh
