Hi guys!! Anyone else apply to this residency?
Does anyone have any insight on this residency or know anyone who has gone through it?
Thanks!!
@Nurseannblessings- I spoke to my UTA advisor and she said I need to have my transcripts in by May 19 to start on July 3rd (I am eager to get going LOL). I take my final on May 4 or 5th so I am hopeful to make the deadline!! I am doing the online route so I can work full time....I have heard some of these residences are very time consuming.
And yes, not everyone got a email from JPS for the next steps (essay, references, etc). I was surprised as well because I figured everyone got a email.
@PD82, LVN- Thank you for the information. When will you be done considering that you are starting the program July 3rd and the course load you will be taking? I do not want to spend more than 12 months doing the RN-BSN, I would like to be done with it in fewer than 12 months if possible. I am debating rather I want to do in class or online now since I am applying to different nurse residences in Houston and Austin. I am also taking chem 1 in the fall, so I will need more time to be able to do everything. I am turning in my transcripts May 1st and will have made a decision by then. My program end's June 9th. If I did the online program I would be on "provisional status" until I pass my NCLEX and turn in my final transcript.

If I do one class at a time, I think I can be done by next summer, considering there are 8 BSN classes needed. Luckily UTA has many class start dates, and shorter class lengths, so I think it will be very accommodating with work.
A recent ADN grad from my program accepted a residency position at a HCA hospital and they actually advised him to wait a few months before starting his BSN because that specific residency program is quite intense. So I think that's a good question to ask during interviews....

Yes, I can, but not in the main hospital until I've got some BSN courses completed (which I plan to start in July at UTA).I could transfer to the urgent care or specialty clinics which wouldn't be too bad, but I really would like to start in the hospital!!
No updates today
the wait continues!!
