Has anyone here taken the LPN program at JJC? Did you like the program? Is there a long waiting list? Were the instructors nice and did they have clinical rotations at Silver Cross? Im just starting to do the prereqs and hope the waiting list isnt too long. Thanks for any insight you can share!

Hi, Stacey! Right in my ball park.....

I have heard there is at LEAST a 2 year waiting list at JJC, and that they MAY be leaning toward a lottery system to get into the RN program.

Also, I am sure Silver Cross is one of the clinical sites.

I just finished all of the prereq's for the JJC nursing program last semester. I have been attending for 2 years now but have decided that I needed to transfer out to another school due to the extraordinarily long waiting list. My original # on the wait list was nearly 600. The requirements to be put on the wait list changed every semester I was enrolled with them, very frustrating, but they have decided to go to the lottery method as of Fall of '07. Everyone will then be required to reapply every semester (until acceptance) and acceptance will be based upon completion of prereq's, GPA, CNA completion and some test scores. They do have clinicals at St. Joe's and Silver Cross as well as (I believe) two other hospitals. If you are just starting out and are able to maintain a good GPA, you should have little difficulty getting in. Good Luck to you!
