I got in for Spring 2022 for days but have limited social media. I don't know anyone else whose gotten in so I wanted to see if anyone replies. This exciting but nerve wrecking at the same time. I started looking into the costs of classes and books and am becoming a little overwhelmed as it goes over my financial aid amount. Any advice, experience, tips On anything in general to JJC nursing program would be awesome.

I got a acceptance email but didn't say if it was days or evening. I'll wait to see. I didn't qualify for financial aid so this should be interesting...

hi, I read your post and I was curious about the admission process , im applying in march for the LPN to RN program ? how is the admission process if you don't get a 82% on the TEAS. any tips ? super nervous I have been a lpn for almost 7 years , so all my classes and grades are older .
Hi. I’m guessing it’s the same as ours but in a different application period. They go by your TEAS score, 82 or higher is guaranteed. I got a 78 and had all a’s except 1 be in my general ED courses. I think my GPA was 3.8. If you don’t get a guaranteed score they rank you. So they go by TEAS score the higher the better I’m assuming. They go by your GPA for only the required gen ED courses, and then you get points by what classes you completed. I had my CNA completed 12 years ago but never worked. I know they say they don’t require you to be a CNA to apply but I think the experience plays a part in it even if they won’t admit it. You have been a LPN for a while so if you do well on the TEAS even if not an 82, and have completed all the courses they want you should be good. I’m not sure how competitive the LPN to RN admission is though. Good luck.
I know they are changing the TEAS test by adding more Chemistry questions. Study all you can. It’s not hard but it’s not easy. If your good at a subject like English or math but struggle with science or like language usage spend more time on those subjects, but do not eliminate the ones from your studying, practice but not to where u spend so much time on it. For math Brandon Craft on Youtube was ?? I suck at math and the man basically saved me with an overnight review. Anatomy and physiology can be anything, and I mean random questions. They are specific but not too specific. Grab the Mometrix TEAS prep book off Amazon, that helped me so much however I had to take the TEAS twice, so the second time I tried to remember as much as I could from the TEAS and studied those and good bc I remember I had a couple of the same questions from the first try, and I actually read the extended mometrix book that is included with the book, but it’s online and it’s more info if your not sure. For the reading part Carolyn McAllister helped on Youtube. Most of the stuff is repetive stuff you’ve heard in English classes but she does give great advice on what to do if your a slow reader. For the language usage I would practice bc I thought I was great at spelling and all that and apparently I was not LOL.
and if in the end you don’t get in don’t get discouraged. It’s very competitive and not a lot of ppl get in their first try. If I missed something I’ll come back here and tell you more or if you have any questions feel free to comment here. Good luck hun. With todays world I know they need all the nurses they can get
Congratulation's on your acceptance, thank you so much , this have helped a lot I really want to score a 82 because my GPA is not great 2A 1B and a couple of Cs in the GEN ED classes but I do have them all except Microbiology , when I spoke to tina she said that not many people obtain a 82 and people who get accepted usually have mid 70s score on the TEAS exam that made me feel a little better I'm going to to take my exam on the 15th of November, I have been focusing on the science and it is a lot to cover... thanks for the heads about the Chemistry because I didn't looked at any Chemistry....
NP hun. Yea 82 is not easy but if u practice a good amount you can probably get it. The first time I took the TEAS ? I scored a 65 I believe. I had studied on and off 2 months prior. The second time I took it seriously and within 2-3 weeks apart I scored the 78. When I applied in May I had A&P 1 &2, psychology 215 left to do which I did in the Summer which was so crappy but I did them. This fall I'm completing comm 101, sociology 290. I have Microbiology left so I'll be taking it next Summer. So there's a chance you'll be able to get in since you only have 1 class left.
NP from what I remember it had balancing equations, or like situations what is it called when gas evaporates or solid turns to liquid, I can't remember but those were some examples.
Good luck hun! Let me know how the TEAS test goes for u.

As I am searching for forums on the lpn-RN bridge program (and awaiting results of the application and super anxious), I just happen to run into this forum.
I graduated from JJC medic to lpn program in 2017. I relocated from Univ of kentucky to there at the last minute due to dropping out from their BSN program and JJC gave me an opportunity to become an LPN. Definitely a life changing experience for sure.
Great program and I loved the professors. I wish I stayed longer and just pursued their lpn to RN bridge program as it was favorable for current JJC students to be accepted. But life got in the way and moved back to Florida. Now I am trying to finish out the bridge program here in west coast.
Ull do great there. I low key miss Illinois and the school. If I wasn't settled down here, id move back in a heartbeat!
so, I took my TEASs exam today I scored a 65.3 , im going to retake it and really study the math , I did the practice exams from the ATI site that I had to buy. the practice exam was just like real exam the same format and every thing. so im going to retake the exam after jan 18, 2022 because you can only take it one time per semester . so im keeping my fingers crossed

Hello I’m applying to Joliet junior college next year. Currently I am taking my prerequisites to get in the program. Some of there requirements has change for instance if you get a 82 you get automatic acceptance l. But now there no minimum TEAS score. So if you don’t get the 82 you get ranked. Also do anybody know about the residency, it says that student who are jjc residents are awarded a seat per ranking. I think I’m more so nervous about the TEAS because I’m not the best test taker. If anybody has any info to share that would be great ?
Hello
I live in Chicago another one of my classmates lives in Skokie and we both got in. I didn't know they changed the requirements for the TEAS test. I say study for the TEAS get a great score and have as many pre reqs as possible. I'm a horrible test taker and I only got a 66. Could have just been luck I got in but I'm in. I had all of my reqs besides micro, which I'm taking now with the program. It's alot of work. Good luck!

Hi Candice. Yes 82 is guaranteed acceptance. From my understanding is if your not a resident within their borders, I believe joliet Plainfield Crestwood bolingbrook maybe, you are last to be considered in and due to the volume of applications most likely won't get it UNLESS you get a guaranteed score, but I could be wrong.
Advice on TEAS: I heard they upgraded it. It has added more Chemistry questions, and I think they shortened some sections down. I really recommend you study, it's not hard but it can surprise you especially the A&P section. I am pretty good at A&P but they threw in a couple questions that were specific and I was stuck. If you are going to take it I recommend you space enough time between the 1st try and possible a second try.
Majority of the students take it twice and don't usually get the score they want their first try. For my first try I got a 63? I was upset. But I had spaced enough time to retake it if needed to. I did my first try in early May before the Spring semester ended (the last day of classes) (although there is no waiting period between taking and retaking make sure u only take one per semester bc if u do better the second time but you took them both during Spring semester they will go by your first test score), got the 63, studied w.e I could remember off the test and went indepth with the secret TEAS book (the indepth version is online and it comes with the book as a code I believe) and retook it the week of the application period end (June 15) (risky I know) but I got a 78 second time and luckily I got in.
You get your score right there and then.
I had all prerequisites except A&P but I was taking them during the Summer so that is OK. I did not have Microbiology but I am completing it this Summer.
Pretty easy process however it is nerve wrecking. You'll do great just study, get your prerequisites done.
For math watch Brandon Craft on Youtube he helped me I kid u not overnight ( I procrastinate and did not study math as well as I should of). I got an 87 on that section.
