Joliet Junior College Spring 2014 Program

Published

Hi,

I just got accepted into the evening nursing program at JJC!!!!!! Is there any advice that someone can give me and also the scheduling for the evening program this semester?

Hi, I also just got into the JJC evening program. I hope to hit the ground running :)

Hi, I think my first post was in the wrong section. I was just accepted into the JJC program as well. I sent a friend request to you as well. We will receive our clinical assigment at registration. Someone said the classes can be anytime between 4-10pm..

Hi jessi12,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited for us, it was so hard to get into this program. I've been reading around on older posts and yes it looks like our schedule is going to be around 4-10pm unless they change something. I'm so excited and scared at the same time, lol. It still feels unreal.

Hi msreeree3,

I was so surprised to find someone on here starting at the exact same semester and also in the evening program as most students go into the day program so, I had to join. I will try later to go on here to see if you click on my id if I could put my personal email in there so you can email me directly if you want. It would be nice to know someone in class before day 1. :)

Congrats on getting in, all your hard work paid off.:)

Yes, I have to work full time so I had to apply for the evening program. Most of the posts have scared me to death about working full time and doing the program but I have no choice so I have to make it work :) I think it's a good idea to exchange info so we can at least know one person already in the program :-)

Yes, I hear you. I have to work as well and also have an 8th grade daughter so, the evening program is the only option for me. Don't be intimated about working and going to school. If you got in, you have the brains to do well and make it work.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. I have a sixteen years old daughter who's a junior in high school. I know you will do well also.

Congrats! I am in 4th semester and have really enjoyed the program(as much as you can enjoy nursing school). It is challenging but ultimately fair. My advice would be to utilize the resources they give you. Get into the lab to practice skills as soon as you learn them and continue to practice throughout the semester. Also they have a retention specialist that offers tutoring. If you don't understand a concept, ask questions! If you are having personal issues, let them know! They want to help people that help themselves. Feel free to message me if you have other questions. Good luck! Oh and get a job at a hospital as soon as you can. You only need to work part time but working in healthcare will help immensely during the program and when it comes time to find a nursing job. Silver Cross hires SNA's. :)
