Hi guys, ive been searching up my question all over google with little help.
I am graduating from my MSN FNP program in Fall of 17 (this year). Ive been having my license as an RN since 2012, and ive been interested in either joining the air force or the navy for a few years not but did not know where to begin. originally, i tried talking to a navy recruiter and asked about joining as an RN; and was told that it will not be possible because they only want experienced RNs at the time of asking.
I mainly want to join the air force as an FNP new grad right now and would like to know if that will be possible with current events?
ps. i am also trying to get in contact with the air force recruiter as well. but i would like to hear from you guys.

I'm a little confused that you have an FNP license but you want to practice as an RN in the Navy. All branches utilize FNPs to some degree.
Also, you've had an RN license for 5 years now. How are you not experienced...especially if you plan to join as an RN?
Yes, the Air Force takes a limited number of new grad RNs. To me, you'd be considered experienced though.

Sorry. I was unclear. When I originally graduated from RN school. I tried joining the navy as a new grad. And they wouldn't let me.
FNP is a different ball of wax. I would check-in again with the Navy if you are still interested. They might really need NPs but not RNs and therefore be willing to take a new-grad NP.
The Air Force certainly takes new grad FNPs and new grad RNs currently. This past cycle took about 20ish for RNs, according to a brand new nurse who direct-commissioned without any experience.
