Have any of you seen the new Nursing commercial running on tv ? It's put out there by Johnson & Johnson and it is really good. What did you think of it ?

has anyone noticed that virtually all of the nurses that appear in the johnson & johnson commercials tend to be very good-looking, fresh-faced, smiling, mostly youthful, hip, well-groomed, and almost glamorous?

in reality, how many of us look that wonderful at the end of a 12-hour or 16-hour shift? at the end of my shifts, my eyes are red and tired, my makeup has worn off, my scrubs may have gotten some bodily fluids on them, my hands are dry after so many hand washings, and my hair might be out of place. after a day's work, the bedside has done a number on me!

speak for yourself! my hair and makeup remain professionally done, my wrinkle-less scrub top is tucked into my skin tight scrub pants and my stiletto heels-not even a scuff.

yeah i'm not even youthful and fresh faced at the start of my 16 hour shifts anymore, lol.

i do kind of like the commercials though they make me feel acknowledged as a nurse in a small way.

I think the commercial is crap! There are a ton of fresh nurses dying to help others and start working but no one is giving us the chance.
