Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to start a thread for those who applied to the DNP program at Hopkins. I recently applied prior to the early Nov 1 deadline. I noticed from last years thread that some applicants mentioned they had interviews already (at this time). Has anyone applied and been interviewed yet? Best of luck to everyone.
In my experience, taking admissions updates, hearsay from friends, or forum discussions, such as those on AllNurses, too seriously can lead to unnecessary anxiety. Each admission cycle is unique, and relying on last year's information may not accurately reflect the current situation. Admissions processes evolve, and what held true previously may not necessarily apply this time around.
Similarly, engaging with admissions staff often yields generic responses, and obtaining precise insights, especially regarding specific dates, can be challenging. It's essential to keep in mind that their responses may be intentionally broad, and the lack of detailed information does not necessarily indicate a lack of transparency.
As we navigate this period of anticipation, let's approach it with patience and resilience. While it's natural to seek information, maintaining a level-headed perspective and avoiding undue stress will be beneficial in the long run. In the end, the results will be revealed, and we can then make informed decisions based on the current circumstances.
Wishing you all the best in this waiting period
I get we are all a bit anxious, I am a bit frustrated myself because they said decisions would be out in early January (this was said in one of their online meetings for the DNP pathways Q/A's), which is technically this week and next week. I have applied to a few other schools as back ups in case admissions to Hopkins did not materialize. These programs have deadlines for deposits on the 15th and I am not looking forward to losing 800$ but I am not the first and will not be the last in this game of waiting... Does anyone else have a yes from other programs? Its actually nice to have choices, this is a first for me ?

I agree that we all just have to be patient in these anxiety inducing times, although I also have a Jan 15th nonrefundable deposit deadline for my second top choice school and so I am really hoping they respond by the 15th. If not, we might just have to ask for an extension on the deadline for the other schools. I guess we will have to wait and see.
