John Hopkins Nurse Residency

Nurses Job Hunt

Published

I will be graduating in May 2016 with my BSN. I did a critical care externship at NYU Langone Medical Center .

I am super interested in working at Hopkins and received a primary interest email after submitting an application about 2 weeks ago. Does anyone know what the process is like or how long the waiting period is ?

For me the hiring process took a little over a month from submitting the application to getting a job offer letter. There's still another waiting period to start the job as all new hires receive orientation at the same time each month.

My timeline went like this -

2/27 - submitted online application

3/6 - received primary interest email

3/15 - received invitation to interview

3/28 - interview and share time

4/4 - received job offer letter

5/2 - new hire start date

At one point I called the nurse recruitment office because they did not get back to me with an interview date after responding to their invitation to interview email (I waited a week before calling to very kindly follow up). The nurse recruiters are very busy this time of year. They are especially busy now since the entire hospital is starting to transition to Epic healthcare software this summer. Hiring is going up to smooth the transition.

I hope you have heard back by now! Best of luck.
