Jobs during probation

Published

I just want to say, getting a job while on probation for drug diversion is possible. Put in the work, trust the process, and places will still consider you. I am fortunate that a HOSPITAL is giving me a second chance. I pray I don't screw this up. I have put in a ton of work waiting on the investigation to happen and end, and now I am being forthcoming with employers and they appreciate it. The hospital I got a job at won't start for a month, which gives the BON time to approve their site monitor. I'm just so thankful. That's all I can think, is how lucky I am to be alive and given a second chance. I still have two years of UAs, AA/NA and check in's, but it seems like I can do this. The hardest part of admitting my problem, going through IOP, and accepting/explaining my situation is behind me.

I had the same job I had when I started this monitoring nightmare.  It's definitely possible.  I think some states are easier to find jobs. It helped that my employer knows I don't have a sud I think.
