Jobs that nursing pre reqs qualify you for?

I'm about to complete all my pre reqs and about to start applying to nursing schools. In the meantime, are there any jobs that pre reqs would qualify one for or at least help in getting hired? I've thought about CNA or phlebotomist but can't spend more time and money in the certifications for those right now. Anything else related to health care?

You might be able to work as a scribe for the ED Docs, it probably wouldn't look as good as something with hands on patient care but is certainly better than non-medical jobs on a resume.

medical receptionist, registration, dietary aide (delivering meal trays), possibly.

The good thing about my school is that completing either a CNA, patient care tech, or home health aide course is a required part of the curriculum, so we could get a direct care job (after becoming certified) if we're so inclined.

I suggest that you pursue one of those courses. In my head PCT is best but, because PCT tends to be more expensive than the others, perhaps try finding a CNA course. Working in a LTC facility and taking care of residents is a great way to experience patient care and may possibly lead to an 'in' at the facility.

Good luck!

Some places will reimburse you for the cost of the CNA class if you work for them for a certain period of time. I know it's a law, but I'm not sure if it's state or federal and I don't know if it for only certain types of facilities.
