Hi everyone,
I am a new graduate nurse, I graduated in May. I have been looking for a job in Jacksonville, FL with no luck. I was hoping for a hospital job, but I would be happy with anything to get some experience. I have tried some nursing homes/long-term care, but it seems like everywhere wants experience. I was hoping someone would know of a long-term care facility in or around Jacksonville that is willing to hire new graduates. I am not from Jacksonville and I just moved here, so I'm hoping someone knows somewhere I might have missed in my job search.
Also, I've heard it might be easier to get a job in home health, but without any experience it kind of makes me nervous. Does anyone have experience with home health in Jacksonville or have any input on doing it as a new grad?
I know I have a lot of questions, but I would appreciate any help or advice anyone could give me. Thanks!

Hi, I know how hard it can be to find a job right out of school... I ended up driving 90 miles each way for my first job, it can be hard right out of school.. a lot of competition & not a lot of places willing to hire with no experience... which is crazy because how can you get experience if no body is willing to give you a chance. I wanted to let you know that there is a Long term care facility in Fernandina Beach called Quality Health that is willing to hire new grads. They do long term care & skilled nursing (almost like med-surg or a surgical step down unit).. great place to build your skills & get some experience... do a search for Quality Health in Fernandina Beach, FL... not far at all from Jacksonville & they are definitely hiring new grads all the time.... Contact HR., or fill our the info on their website ( a little bit archaic website, but if you put your info in you should get a call back, or just look up the phone number... best way to do it is to get them to email you the application.. (its all on paper & takes a while to fill out) & bring it back when they call you for interview... if you got a job already, congrats, if not, pass this on to anyone that you know is looking for work, they are usually always hiring & don't mind new grads or little experience...
