Oh ok, good to know. I wonder if there is another way to get a feel for what it's like to be a Nurse? If being in the hospital to observe in some way isn't an option, are there any good documentaries that might be useful? I'm reading a book called "Nurse" right now which is quite good and base on real experiences. If anyone else has some ideas, feel free to share.
Cheers!
Hi thanks for the tips, I'll have to look into Vancouver hospitals too! I've actually found a volunteer opportunity at Victoria General Hospital so I'm starting the process to do that. And my brother is a paramedic in Vancouver, so I'm going to do a ride along with him just to get a different experience in the medical field. Should be interesting!

Hi all :)
I'm a pre-nursing student on a waitlist for the 4 year RN program. I'm switching careers so it's a big (and a little scary) step! I'd like to see a day in the life of a Nurse and what the work environment is like; also the different kinds of nursing. For those Nurses working in the Victoria area, are there job shadowing opportunities? Maybe at Jubilee or Vic General Hospital or other places that may offer this? Are there volunteer opportunities aswell?
Thanks!!
