Me and my husband recently got FT perm positions in the ICU in SK. I am told that of course there is a nursing shortage, and that ICU's are hardest hit, which seems normal.

I have worked in both Canada and the USA, and I definitely prefer Canada. Although I am definitely not thrilled with the GP's here!

Hi there.

Thanks for your comments, I do not know if u have read our mail earlier in this thread.

We have Permanent /green card to US and Canada, we have to choose b/w US or Canada, since our Canadian PR&SIN cards would expire by 2006 Oct, if we do not enter Canada by then. At Present I am in OR, passed the CNOR exam for RNFA, doing my 180 hrs clinicals here in St Louis /USA, hope to be a RNFA by 2005 May. i.e RN first assistant programme.

I am BSN, have nearly 13-14 yrs of experience in OR espl with cardio-thoracic and other general surgeries. I worked in Liverpool too, as Anaesthesia OR Nurse fro 3 yrs prior to entering USA.

Pls advice us what move should we take, how do you support that its better to stay in Canada/ than US since we need to decide by then, Can I get a job in Canada, I do have valid Ontario & BC RN Licenses. Your input would be of great help to us. We working in US since last year.

What are the benifits, health in Canada and the unions etc.

Thanks for taking the time to advicin/replying to my query.

paddi.
