hi fellow nurses!

i had my first day of hospital orientation at hoag hospital and it truly is a fabulous place to work. everyone was so kind and seemed absolutely happy working there.

there were a lot of new hires going to the new hoag hospital in irvine. they are scheduled to open 9/1/10 and you can read more about it here:

i also wanted to let those searching for job opportunities know that there is a job fair on 5/25/10 tuesday, may 25 from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the newport beach location. you do need to register for the event!!!

O wow, thanks for the info. Can new grad nurses attend too since it does say on the description that they want experience candidates for the Irvine hospital...

I find this interesting. I interviewed last spring for their new grad ER position at the Hoag location and was not offered a position.

I get a phone call from a them a year later asking if i was interested in working at their Irvine location. The phone call surprised me cause it was literally impossible for me to find a job last spring/summer and to have them call me back and ask me again was quite shocking. I turned them down due to my current job. I must say that the Newport Beach location is an absolute stunner. One of the prettiest hospitals I'd seen and I live in the Bay Area and have been around some real nice ones.

Hi there! I had 2 phone interviews last week and the last one was last Thursday. I was told to wait for this week for scheduling of face to face interview. I'm just hoping and praying so much they will call me again . Are there any nursing skills that they will be asking? Can I ask for advice/tips? ...I hope they will call me...

Did you get a call back? I did 2 phone interviews and have a 3rd face to face. Im wondering what to expect in the interview (nursing skills, testing, drug info, etc).

Yup they did but I had to take some tests...hope I will pass :(

I was offered a position at Hoag :) My only worry is passing the entrance exams (EKG, Pharm). Please let me know when you take it so I can ask some questions about it if you dont mind. thanks!

when did you apply for the offered a position at Hoag? it this for Sept position, I check the website but no information found. Any tips how to keep track with opening position? please help

First off, congratulations on getting a job at Hoag! :) Like Gold22, I also need help on getting in track with their job positions. When I went to their HR 2 weeks ago, they said they'll be posting new grad positions for September this month. But there's no post and I've been searching their career site every day. I'm about ready to give up hope on hoag since they haven't been posting anything for new grads. :(
