Hello! I am a new grad RN on the journey of accepting a position in a residency program. I interviewed with what we'll call "Hospital A" (for sake of privacy) and I loved the unit, hospital and interview. It is VERY great adult hospital and I would be surprised if I was not offered the position. I also have an interview in 11 days with "Hospital B", the hospital that I have been dreaming of working at since high school. I have met with the residency coordinator at Hospital B and have then learned that I have pretty good chances at landing the job with Hospital B.
My dilemma: if Hospital A extends an offer, I'm going to have to make a decision without even interviewing with Hospital B yet. I've heard about being blacklisted from hospitals if you commit to their residency program and then back out for a different job. What are your thoughts about how I go about this? Do I simply ask Hospital A for more time and honestly explain my situation and pray they extend my offer window? Help
Thanks!

There is no dilemma, yet. At this point, you have NO offers. If you do get an offer from either place, I think you should accept it. If you get another offer, then you'll have a decision to make. They're keeping their options open, and so should you.
Don't agonize prematurely.
