I'm curious if anyone knows if hospitals in the Tulsa and/or Oklahoma City area are hiring new grads. I keep hearing stories about new grads that can't get hired, just wondered if people were starting experience that here.

I spoke to a recruiter at St. Francis in Tulsa and they don't seem to be as affected by the economy as much. She said they still have sign on bonuses and they actually have quite a few RN jobs posted on their Careers web site. And that's quite a few Clinical Nurse I positions that don't require much experience (if any?).

I'm not sure what the job market is right now, but I just graduated with my BSN and had no problem finding a job in the Tulsa area. However, I began the job search and interview process early (I interviewed and was hired 5 months before graduation!) just to be safe. From what I hear, none of my classmates have had any real issues finding a job, and most got their first choice position. My guess is that your best bet would be to call the nurse recruitersf for any hospitals you are interesting in (things could have changed a lot, who knows!). Hope that helps.

There's alwasy the government. They prioritize and shift hospital funds for their nurse hires. The only thing - they take forever to get back to you. Good Luck!
Thank you so much for your advice!!!
