Hello and welcome to Allnurses.com!
Your post was moved to the UK Nursing forum to increase the likelihood of generating a reply from someone who can answer your question.
The majority of the members on the other forums are from the US and probably would not have any personal experience with job interviews in the UK.
I am a U.S. nurse, so not really familiar with your specialty. But check out this website and familiarize yourself with what they do.
Theatre nursing - NHS CareersGood luck!
I would think they may ask you questions based on the recent Francis report mid staffs investigation. A lot is changing within the NHS due to this. You should be a me to find an overview of the report online.
You will get asked things like
Why you want to do the job?
What do you have to bring to the job?
How do you think you will adapt from being a student nurse to a qualified nurse?
How do you think the Francis report will change the way we provide care?
Where do you see yourself in the future?
May ask you questions like
If you were told to do something that is outside
Your scope of practice what would you do?
If you seen a senior doing something that you thought was wrong how would you handle this situation?
If you were giving drugs and you realised that you had given it wrong what would you do ?
You come to give a controlled drug and you noticed a discrepancy in the controlled drug book what would you do?
There are lots of different question they could ask. Have you been for an informal visit to the area of work. This makes your face known in the area and shows your enthusiasms for the job
PM if you would like any more information
