Job ideas

Published

I'm stopped working when I got accepted by a very competitive RN program because I was working in a completely different job field. Now I'm trying to find something I can do to get both experience in the medical field for my resume and a little income to help out with the tuition and other bills. Most of the jobs I see require me to already have some sort of degree or certification.

I could always volunteer to get the exposure, but I really do need to make at least a little money. Any ideas what I can do? I have a high school diploma (several college credits, but no degree yet) and I've been working for the past 8 years as an electrician...

Maybe medical records at a hospital? Some hospitals will let you work as a nurse tech without certification if you are in your 2nd semester of nursing school. Have you thought of dietary aide in a hospital? Not ideal but it is a foot in the door. Check out other positions at hospitals, once you have a foot in the door it is easier to make a transition.:nurse: Good luck! I am sure there are lots of other good ideas too.
