Another research project for you, and one I would recommend since you are unfamiliar with the different type schools.
Pay close attn to the school's accreditation, particularly by nationally recognized credentialing NURSING bodies. Accreditation is critical to your ability to further your schooling by transferring your school's credits. Also some prospective employers look at school accreditation.
Pay super DUPER close attn to costs. Typically, they are more expensive than traditional county and state schools.
Like anything else, some schools are better than others. Everyone has his/her own sense of value. Two students can take the same classes - one student does well, the other struggles. A school provides what it should.
Be aware there is the The College of New Jersey, also located in Trenton (in Ewing and only a few miles away). TCNJ is part of the New Jersey State College system. THEY ARE NOT RELATED!!! Be sure you do not confuse the 2 school programs.
FYI - as a piece of trivia, the building that houses JC used to be a department store (E J Korvette's) when it was built in the 1960s-ish. Like a nice Kohl's - it was a nice store.
