Greetings,
I have a small assignment and my google approach has yielded few results. I need to research the proper nursing care for a dying Jehovah witness patient. I am supposed to research the general beliefs & traditions, but more importantly what the traditions are regarding wakes and death? Any input will be appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your responses.
Bill
PS this is my first time post. If I am doing something wrong please be nice to me.

Check out http://www.watchtower.org. That is their official website.

Yes thanks I have already been there but there is not any mention of the dieing. Basically I have read quite a bit about the JW's and it appears that they welcome death and do not grieve it. I read somewhere that they call their service a memorial rather than a funeral. I read that they don't feel embalming is necessary for a christian burial. But I have not had much success with bedside manner for a dying Witness.
I am still welcoming input.
Thank you,

I hope this helps http://www.jw-media.org/medical/index.htm
good luck.
here's another one:http://www.watchtower.org/e/20050101a/article_01.htm
I just wanted to add that you should be very careful with your sources for this project because it is my understanding that JWs are very particular and refer to the Watchtower or their Kingdom Hall for guidance. (Half of my large family are JWs)
I am sure if you went to a Kingdom Hall and approached an elder they would be MORE THAN HAPPY to answer any questions. You may have a hard time finding information otherwise. They seem to be slightly private/conservative. Trust me, they would love to talk to you!!
In other words, don't just interview or talk to someone who is a Jehovah's Wintess. Different individuals have different beliefs and the best source would be to email somebody through the Watchtower or go to Kingdom Hall. There are many misconceptions about their beliefs and if you want accuracy, well...I already said it.
