hi, i am a recent rn wanting to relocate back to the ne to start my career in nursing. i have interviews set up for jefferson (for an or internship) and paoli hospital (er internship). i am familiar with only the city & ne section of philly; &, with the reputation that jefferson regarding the civility of its nursing staff for one another. other than where paoli is located, i cannot find out any information regarding its orientation program, dynamics of the er, its general attitude toward new grads, pay structure, etc. can anyone help? also, has anyone gone through jefferson's new grad program, or know the starting pay there? any info would be appreciated because i am pretty much going there blindly.

Paoli is 45 minutes to the west of Jefferson.
Jeff is urban academic teaching hospital. Paoli is affluent suburban facility in western suburbs under control of Main line Health: both part of larger Jefferson Health System. Not worked at either but have had family with great care at JEFF. 18mo son's ear tubes placed at Paoli--preop nurses wonderful there when doctor 4 hours late for surgery (long story). Both with good reps. Think Jeffs nursing dept stronger--hearsay of course.
Depends if you want urban versus suburban atmosphere where to choose.

Thank you so much for the info :redbeathe . I guess a lot of my decision will be based on the "feel" I get when I'm interviewing. I'm interviewing in 3 states; but, I really would prefer to live in the Philly area (family used to live there) so I am trying not to blow it on the interviews
Philly area been home for entire life. Love the four seasons. Drop me a line when coming and see if we can meet.
