Jefferson state spring/summer 2017

U.S.A. Alabama

Hello everyone I just wanted to start a post for the spring/summer applicants of 2017. Hopefully the spring applicants can give us summer applicants some insight as to what we should expect and any helpful tips. Also please post which campus you will be applying to/1st and 2nd choice, teas test tips, and the points you will be applying with good luck to everyone.

I haven't noticed anything different with my pipeline account....

I haven't heard either. I emailed our one advisor last wed evening since there had been such mixed comments and still haven't heard back. I haven't gotten a rejection letter or acceptance email. Just hanging in limbo. I tried to call and it goes straight to vm.

Well, I received a letter in the mail yesterday saying my application was incomplete and missing one of the requirements even though I met with an advisor to turn it in. I am going to meet with someone this week to see so not happy :(

Make sure you take the paper that the advisor signed when you submitted your application. What requirement did they say you were missing? (If you don't mind me asking).

She said that it was my GPA even though it was calculated as a 2.9 when I turned it in with the advisor. I misplaced that sheet so I am going to see if they have a copy of it at the advising office at Shelby-Hoover when I am at lunch. I'm hoping there was a mistake!!!

Question: Has everyone that has been accepted for Spring 2017 taken the co-requisites courses for the program? Meaning, will you just be taking the nursing courses throughout the program? Does anyone know if this makes the program more "manageable" if one can say that?

Question: Also has anyone been recommended any nursing apps, books, study aids, etc?

I am finishing my co-requisites so I can focus on just nursing classes. I have also already taken my AHA BLS level of First Aid and CPR. I think it depends on how much you have going on in your personal life etc... If you hear of any apps, books, or study aids, please pass on the info.

I recently downloaded an app from the app store (iOS) called Notability. I think it was around $10. I can record class lectures with it. I can also download Powerpoint and make notes directly on the slide.

It also had a notebook/notepaper feature, but I type faster than I can write.

Hello,

Were they able to correct the issue? Or find the missing paper?
