Jeff State Spring 2018

Published

Hey guys! Thought I would go ahead and make one for Spring 2018! Comment if your applying and what campus! Does anyone know if the requirements will change like going back to the Teas or keeping the ACT test?

Like how are there people with 35 getting in but people with 37 not getting in? Even if the person with a 37 has a lower gpa, the points weigh more. Gpa is just a fallback to determine one applicant over another.

Looks like I'll be taking my ACT...again lol.

I don't think they are done sending emails. I'm sure they aren't.

Yeah, for fall people were still getting emails a week after the initial rollout. But I don't think I got in either.

Anybody gotten any news today?

I still haven't received an email saying one way or the other.

I think it's that each semester that keep taking less and less acceptances than previous semesters because of the new program.

Looks like it comes down to how well you do on the ACT. I hate that. You dont have to do fabulous on the ACT to make a great nurse!! I wish there were more deciding factors than this. I feel like for a lot of ppl the ACT comes down to luck anyway..

Exactly. I find it sad, honestly, that the ACT is more important than the prerequisite courses that actually ASSIST you in nursing school. When the old system was in place, the classes weighed more than, or equal to the TEAS test. Also, it was out of 250 points, not 58.

What's more sad is that with the old system, people didn't lose points for being in the program before. Now you lose 7 points...out of 58..making it almost impossible for those people to get in.

They did say more emails were getting sent this week. I heard all the ones from yesterday have to reply by tomorrow to save their seat

Has anyone gotten an email confirming they have not been accepted?

They send rejection letters by mail
