Jeff State Fall hopefuls 2016

Hello, this thread is for the Jeff State fall hopefuls 2016. Application deadline is May 12 @ 4:30pm. I applied to both programs, night and weekend program being my first pick with a total of 190 points. I Also applied to the day program with my three picks being Jefferson campus, Shelby campus and pell city campus last. I was admitted into the program before but withdrew because of a death in the family. Ive had time to grieve and im ready to rock and roll. Ive missed nursing so much and im so excited. For all the new candidates, nursing is hard. It demands of lot of attention. Sometimes more than a newborn infant. Stay grounded and lets complete nursing school.

it really depends on the pool of applicants, I was reading in past forums that some years the cutoff was 180, but this year it looks like it was 170

Lowest I have heard this go round has been 177. But there could have been some lower that is just the lowest I have seen.

Where do we look to see what books we need? Also do you have an idea of what all we need to purchase before classes start? Like uniforms etc.? Just curious if anyone has an idea of what we will need.

We'll know about uniforms and stuff either in the follow up email or at orientation. for the books I just went to the bookstore and look up Nur 102, 103, and 104, and wrote down the isbn, and then searched around. i plan on buying from Barnes and Noble and chegg, they were the cheapest I've seen so far

I applied to all campuses with a 181 and didn't receive anything via email. Hopefully some slots open up and I will receive something next week

I've seen a few decline their spots so I'm sure something will open up! They probably won't inform you until Tuesday or Wednesday though because the deadline to accept or deny is Monday at like 4:30! But I'm sure they will contact you! You could give them a call and just ask when they possibly think they will be filling spots that were not taken.

I've seen like 3-4 people decline on here already because they also got accepted elsewhere and decided to go to there.

I'm actually declining my acceptance. I decided to go to Gadsden State instead so hopefully one of you on the waiting list will be able to fill the position! Good luck everyone!!

also guys, I took a look at some of the books we would need, and Barnes and noble as well as Amazon have marketplaces where ppl can sell their used books for awesome prices, I bought a book for 8 bucks that's typically 60! make sure to look around for bargains!

I also get all of my books from Amazon. I've been told to keep all of them if possible. You may need them for reference for the NCLEX. So organize your notes along the way, so you can just study a subject at a time. Just another nugget for your basket! Happy Monday Everyone!
