any Jeff State Fall 2011 hopefuls out there??

I am taking the TEAS V Wednesday, so then I will know how many points I have!!! :)

At Jeff states bookstore online , if you select nur 104 then it only shows two books but if you select nur !04 n/w it shows more books

I'm finishing up my second semester of the full-time track. I think I know why you have to have the fundamentals book for 104. I remember our very first test for 104 came ONLY from the fundamentals book usually used for 102. It may not be the reason but...just an idea. Good luck y'all! Enjoy your free time while you have it and do as much of the entire calculate with confidence book as possible before the semester starts. :)

@ Teejazzy, yeah i just checked out the website and i see what you mean. i got the Saunders book from a former student already, its the 4th edition tho, but that shouldn't be that big of a deal...i may cave and get the 5th if i think it's going to be a problem. i guess we do need everything else then according to sunshine1986, thanks for your input by the way. i started my calculate with confidence book on monday...i have several things that i need to review so that i can calculate with confidence lol.

Ok I got an email from the chair of the n/w track, she said all we need is the Pharm book, Calculate with Confidence and the Health Assessment book. I have no idea why online it lists the Mosby book and all that other stuff, but she said that was for spring semester. Hope that helps everybody.

ok thanks MTAC

hate to burst anyones bubble but jeff state is hard and very unorganized. good luck to all that get in. your gonna need it. its not impossible but its close to it. and calculations is the least of your worries!!!!!!!!!!!!!! know how to test nclex style cause if you dont then you SOL!

OMG! are there test everyday? I've seen that most people mention the NClex style questions as being problematic... Just curious, does the tests given in class, reflect the material covered in the classroom.. I want to remain opimistic...

@ heartnswoon, are you still in the program? Which program did you attend (day or n/w)? Were the instructors helpful? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

your so cute! haha i was optimistic as well. and its good to stay that way. i dont like giving out information about where i am or who i am cause teachers do look at this. but yes i am in the nursing program. every teacher is different you have to figure out how they test. its almost a game. they say it aint but it totally is. they just try to get the weak out. to be a nurse you have to be strong. its gonna test you on so many levels. its hard.... plan and straight up. some people ease through but most struggle. its just the way it is. the more you analyze the worst and harder it is. just study everyday! and yes there are test every week! and there is sometimes three test in one week. then they will lecture after test then you have a test the next week. its just the way it is. hard hard hard. no other way to put it. it makes A&P 1 and 2 as well as microbiology look elementary or even pre-kish! so dont think you can study only four hours for a test and make an A. You would be lucky to make a D only studying that much!

sorry seems like i am being negatvie but really honestly trying to be honest. cause everyone sugar coated it for me and wish i had someone that just told me striaght up.

and FYI there are no study guides so dont ask for one! I made that mistake and got a head throw back with a laugh!

I understand.. Thanks Heartnswoon... I'm going on vacation next weekend so that i can kinda relax before fall semester kicks off..

thats a GREAT idea! wish someone would have told me to do that! I mean for real! ENJOY IT! Keep your head up... it is possible cause others have done it. its just how bad you want it or not! and another thing.... just because half the class fails a test doesnt mean they will have to change your grade! this is called welcome to nursing school and all the normal rules dont apply!! you will not be spoon feed anything this is a true test of who you are as a person! and thats honestly why people dont make it through. YOU GOT TO BE STRONG! get used to making B's and C's! sometimes the highest anyone makes is a low B on test!
