Hey. I've recently been accepted into the RPN program for Jan 15 at Centennial. Still waiting on George Brown. I've heard mixed reviews on both of the colleges but they have the same standards so I guess they are quite the same. Many people say Centennial and Humber are the top for Nursing though :) I hope you get accepted!

I would have to say that Humber does not have a reputation as being one of the best. Not at all.
GBC and Centennial are both pretty good from what I have heard.
Good luck!
The thing is I emailed admissions at centennial about a week ago asking what's the status of my applications (2014 & 2015 program) and a lady from admissions emailed me asking what's my student number then sent an email saying "September is full but I have given you an acceptance for the 2015 program. Thank you for choosing Centennial" yesterday and bam I received an offer on OCAS. Has this happened to anyone else? It is way early but I'm not complaining haha. Thank you.

Oh okay, I just heard people saying that. I guess it depends on the person. Thank you. I hope to get into GB but if not, I'll be attending Centennial :)
I know from experience, that cenntenial was a super hard program. I say was because they were recently put on watch by the cno because they wanted to know why there were such a low number of graduates. Because of that they've had to make some changes (for the better) So starting this September, you guys won't have any cumulative exams! Instead you'd just have more exams that are worth more marks.
Why don't you think Humber has a bad reputation? I've heard nothing but good things about their program.

I'd have to agree that Centennial is really hard. I didn't do my practical nursing there but took a course called Health Assessment (part of the bridging program) and it was the most I've ever learned in one class. It was also extremely hard, but worth it. I can only imagine that the rest of the nursing classes are hard as well.
Humber has one of the lowest pass rates on the national exam. I've also heard and read various things about the program not being as good as other schools.
I didn't attend Humber so I cannot personally attest to how it is, but like I said it is what I have heard :)
I just checked my status on George brown's Stu-View and under the summary, I was not given an offer but asked to check periodically. I went through all the links and concluded that I may not get an offer cos, they require an average of 6 courses to get into any program at the college. As a mature applicant, I completed the prerequisite for practical nursing with an average of 88% in all four courses. Just felt like sharing my experience. I now agree that the PN program at George brown is reserved for their Pre-Health students. Good luck to anyone who gets into this program. I am looking somewhere else.

I am currently waiting for an admission offer from any of the colleges that I applied to. But I am completing ENG 4C. I've completed Chemistry, Math and Biology. I hope to go to George Brown College cos of all the positives I've heard about it. I also applied to Centennial and Durham. Does anyone have any advice
