Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone is applying to any of JU's BSN program.I applied to their second degree BSN program. I hear tuition is a bit expensive but is totally worth the $$. I hope to meet you all in May 2013 best of luck to you all Dec. 1st is right around the corner.

It is so exciting! Everyday that goes by we are closer to going to class. I will be doing loans too. I need to get that figure that out next week as well. I guess we will be doing the CPR together. Do you know anyone here in jax? What made you chose Ju?I think the whole program will go fast. Before we know it we will be studying for the NCLEX!!

i am looking forward to the CPR class and finally getting to meet you & all of our other classmates! my family is from Jax area and my g-parents still live there (out near Ponte Vedra). i chose to apply to JU and UNF (as well as schools out here on the west coast), but JU felt more welcoming and more of the right type of environment i wanted to be in. i declined an interview to UNF and hoped that JU would accept me and they did :) if you want to exchange any information not on here (contact info, class info, etc) feel free to email me at [email protected]! im actually surprised there aren't more people on this board! oh and i dont even want to THINK about the NCLEX right now!! one step at a time!

Congrats!!! Look forward to meeting you. Have you paid your deposited yet? Did you apply for any scholarships?

Hi, Lsump050! Yes, I have deposited already and I am currently trying to check everything off the list of things we have to do before class begins (drug test, background check, etc.). We are already busy with all of that!! No, I did not apply for any scholarships. Looking forward to meeting you and everyone!

I have searched EVERYWHERE for the JU deposit and fee info for when you're accepted. I applied to the traditional BSN, so I won't hear about an interview until April 8th, but I want to be prepared. Could one of you who've already been accepted please post the link that gives you that info.. checklist and all

That's great! I will give you my info thru email. I look forward to meeting everyone also. It's amazing that next month we will be attending out first class. I'm surprised not that many people aren't on here as well. I see a lot of old threads where there are plenty of people conversing about school. Are you doing the student insurance thru the school?

yay! i look forward to your email.. i have been communicating with a few others who were on the housing list that was sent out but i was surprised that that list wasn't too long.. it's crazy that this program starts so soon.. i have not secured a loan yet and am trying to get the financial aid office to call me back and im starting to panic! have you been told total costs for summer term? do you know if you apply for loans just for summer term since its technically part of the 2012-2013 school year and then re-apply for more loans later on for the 2013-2014 school year (fall 2013 and later)? or do you apply for everything all at once? ive never borrowed money for school before and am confused because everything is separated by school year. yes, i am doing student insurance through the school. i think its cheaper versus taking out a private plan and i won't be working so i obviously wont have a plan through employment lol

the deposit is $300 and i dont think there is access to the checklist off the regular website.. it was sent to everyone in an email from the SON. it's like 6 pages long but has everything you need, like remaining requirements for admissions (final transcripts, etc), financial aid contact info (specific aid counselors), registering for classes and a list of all classes required for the program, a checklist specifically for the SON (immunization & medical form, background check, CPR class), orientation info, living arrangements, nursing school supplies and important dates. the SON is supposed to be sending us a more detailed packet regarding the last few things on that list.. good luck!!

Wow really that's crazy.. I know they were only 16 seats available for the program. We're going to be a very small class. I believe that where U feel out the loans it will be for the year. So we will have to apply for a summer loan then apply for the fall and spring. I believe so. I haven't received a call back from financial aid either. I may go up there tomorrow if I have time. I'm debating about the insurance as well I'm balancing my options and needs. I'm covered thru my job but when I stop working I lose coverage. When are you looking to come down? I sent my info through email today.

Yippie can't wait to meet you! I have looked around and they have some on the ju site I haven't applied yet. I'm trying to get everything done as well. Are you already CPR certified? Are you here in jax?

wow i didnt realize how small our class would be.. i was thinking like 25-30! i wonder if its because we meet up with the traditional and transfer BSN students in the fall, schedule-wise (i think that's how it works?) i was looking at the size of the summer classes we have to take and theres 2 sections for each one so i THOUGHT there would've been more in the 2nd degree program cuz im not sure who else would be taking summer classes. it'll be interesting to see how many come to orientation. im emailing you back now!

Yayy! I got an invitation to interview for their Fall program!! My interview is scheduled for the 22nd :)
