J. Sargeant Reynolds Fall 2017

Published

Hey everyone,

I applied for Reynolds fall 2017 RN program that closes may 15th. Just wanted to see everyone's scores for the Kaplan test. We are supposed to hear back 1st or 2nd week of June. Good luck everyone!

I took the Kaplan twice to better my science score.

1st test: Reading 82%, Math 93%, Writing 86%, Science 75%

2nd test: Reading 91%, Math 96%, Writing 71%, Science 80%

I'm glad to know you found a program that fits your schedule. What exactly do you like about the program hours?

Hi just out of curiousity, what is it about reynolds program changes that you find undesirable - as opposed to pvcc?

I know there is no more summer classes so we dont graduate early and I looked at pvcc they have night classes

It's Friday and we still haven't heard anything.

I know! Ugh I was hopeful today would be the day.

Well 4 startes I only have 1 class in the fall at pvcc versus 4 at jsr now. They have a new curriculum at jsr which means 1st cohort of the new program is like trial and error. I don't want to be apart of that. Um pvcc is very laid back. I know a lot of ppl who are in jsr program and I just want to go where I know no one. So far everything is okay at pvcc.

I'm happy for you. I am considering other programs to avoid childcare and I like that you have 1 class in the fall. I wish I knew of that program. Why does it say on their site they only admit in the fall but you are taking sumber classes?

They allowed us to take 226 and 100 in the summer to reduce our workload while doing clinicals. Which is thoughtful to me. But bc I was waiting on jsr I missed the deadline for my 226 class thank goodness it's online. The 2nd semester I actually only havec1 campus class plus clinical studies. My pharmacology class is online. And we have the summer off. So it's actually pretty smooth. My hardest course load is my last semester with 3 classes to my knowledge.

Only downside is they pick your clinical days for you. If you are a mom and working like me that's scary but my bosses are willing to work with me and my hubby and parents and in laws are very helpful with babysitting. So I think it will be great. And with me doing RN to BSN classes for Old Dominion University the course load is more manageable plus I pay out of pocket and it's cheaper there

You are making my mouth foam with excitement for you and wishing I did the same. I am a mom of 2 and I would like to avoid childcare at all cost. Do they only offer fall admissions? I'm looking at NOVA.

NOVA has a hybrid program so does John Tyler but you need to do very well on the TEAS test. I thought they had spring admissions but I will confirm and let you know tomorrow.
