Ivy Tech LPN-ASN Spring 2016

Published

I'm applying for Indy Lpn-Asn for the September 1st deadline. Does anyone know how competitive this nursing program is ? I haven't been able to find much information regarding transition. Feel free to chime in :)

My Stats:

Aphy 101-B+

Psych-A

Eng 11-A

Teas-79

Specializes in ICU.

That's all that is required for the transition program? Or are you applying for both LPN and ASN? I would think you would be ok with those grades but I don't know how many people are applying. A word of advice, get all the coreqs done also before going into the program. You cannot go into the final semester without those done and it is very difficult to take additional classes while in the program. I have no idea why they lowered the prereq threshold. It's stupid. I know many of my classmates were struggling to try and find coreq classes for this summer and fall. And we were told that we could only take night classes due to clinical schedules. For people with families, that's tough.

I'm applying for transition. They just took aphy 102 out of the admission process. I agree. They make it extremely hard to work around. Luckily, I have everything done. I think you can send emails to individual instructors asking them for admission into a full class if you need to. I did that with a math class and the instructors were willing to make room for one more.

I just applied as well for the traditional track at the sellersburg Ivy Tech! I have all A's and a 88 on the TEAS. Do you know how many spots are open for the LPN-RN? Your scores are great by the way.

I am in the LPN to Rn transition program at the Indy campus. Almost everyone that applies gets accepted each year. This year (we started summer 2015) they said there were 40 people to apply. They took 30. Out of those 30, 5 ended up not accepting that spot because of either being accepted at a closer school or whatever reason. So they took another 5. So basically only 5 out of the 40 did not get in. My grades and those of many others I spoke to were NOT perfect. Got a 79 on the TEAS and had all B's. I had also applied at 4 other campuses and was an alternate to all of those. Indy was the one I was directly accepted to. Luckily it was my first choice anyway.

I was told in several previous years that everyone was accepted at the Indy campus. It just isn't nearly as competitive for the transition program in comparison to the ASN/LPN programs.

This makes me Happy! I applied to kokomo and I am waiting on my letter now but I do not have perfect grades either and was wondering what my chances are. How is the program in indy and how do you like it? How many days a week do you go?

Any info would be great! thanks and best of luck!

Any news yet on letters? Please post when you do!

Good luck to everyone!

I applied to the transition ASN program at Anderson and Indy with all As and 87 TEAs score. Two of the LPNs I graduated with were denied with 63-69 TEAs and As and Bs from Anderson. One received an alternate letter today, don't know her grades but I think she made a 70 on the TEAs. I'm thinking at this point no news is good news bc everyone who I know who has applied to Anderson has been denied or sent alternate letters. Maybe they haven't sent acceptance letters yet? 3 of us with good points are still waiting.

Well ill take that then! :) No news is good news! ":)

good luck to everyone!

Update: My friend and I got our acceptance letters from the Anderson campus for transition today! I had 147 total points and she has 133. The letters were sent on Sept. 22nd. I'm still waiting on my letter form Indy.

Well Congrats! good luck! I hope to have some good news this weekend!

ugh I'm so nervous. I just realized they won't accept my math portion retake from ISU. So this means I'm only working with a 75%.
