I wonder this every semester and worry until it comes, but if I'm expecting a refund check - does anyone know how long it takes for them to send?
On my Financial Aid Status page it says they expect it to be sent by September 22. Well, it's later than that - does that mean "they" (award provider) sent it to Ivy Tech by Sept 22 and Ivy Tech will send it to me when they get around to it? I've had to put my books on my Visa...I'm sure everyone knows how that goes but now I need it back!
Thanks in advance

It takes 7-10 business days from the date the loans are dispursed till you get a refund. Check your Campus Connect online, go to FA section and the check student account.
Got mine yesterday and it was mailed Sept 30th.

I got my loan funds a couple weeks ago, and got my federal aid back 3 days ago. This is from the Indy campus. It probably just depends on which campus you go to and where you live. Mail transit time, etc.

The financial aid page does not state they will be mailed by the 22nd. That is just the date for the process to start. I received my loan and refund together in one large check last Thursday. They sent them out on the 30th of September. You should allow 7-10 business days from the day they sent it out.
When in doubt, call the Bursar's office and they will be able to tell you if it has mailed yet or not.

Ivy Tech used to offer vouchers, so people could go ahead and get their books while waiting for their fin aid to come through. Do they not do that any more?

nope....i was told in the fa office to go ahead and get my books and then pay myself back when i did get my check.
The financial aid was posted to the accounts before the semester started, so instead of vouchers, you would pretty much just "debit" your account at the bookstore and they would take it off of the amount that would be refunded to you. Kind of the same way it worked if you ordered online in previous semesters. I did not have to pay out of pocket once this semester (except of course for the books I bought off of Craigslist).
Well it sounds like it will be here soon! Thank you for the help. I'm at the Indy/Lawrence campus btw.

When I got my books online there was an option to use my financial aid. Where it said the type of credit card there was also a financial aid option but I go to the ft wayne campus so maybe that was why but I think the online book store is the same for all because I had to choose which campuses my classes were at (I took some pre reqs online)
