Ivy Tech Columbus Fall 2010 applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

I just found this site and was wondering how many of you are applying to Ivy Tech Columbus for the ASN program THIS fall. I just turned in my app last month. I've gotten all A's in my pre-reqs (still taking APHY 102 currently) and only received one B in a co-req (Math 118). I got an 87.6 on the TEAS and I get the 3 points for the region. So as long as I get an an A in APHY 102 my total score is a 210. After this semester I will only have 1 c-req left to take and that's Microbiology or Advanced Physiology. I chose to take Micro this summer to get it out of the way. How is everyone else doing? :) I'm DYING as I wait for my letter and they won't be mailed until the end of May at the earliest.

Specializes in ER.

Can someone tell me when the orientation is for Columbus??

Orientations for Columbus are on July 13th and Aug. 17th. I had a score of 206 and recieved a letter that I have an alternate seat in the LPN program, so I may or may not get in. The unknown is so stressful!

Did you get in? All the alternates that were there today got in so I hope you were one of them. :)

Hi NewMommy!

I WAS at oriention too! I am in the ASN program now. I was sooo excited. After getting a denial letter and then a letter saying I was an LPN alternate I felt hopeless. I couldn't believe it when they said all of us were in! I was one of the four they called up front to ask if we wanted to move to the ASN class. I said YES immediately! I am guessing that alot of people turned down there LPN spots, that's sad for them because they probably would have ended up in the ASN program. I'm sure we'll get to know each other this semester since we have a small class. Good Luck and see you Aug. 17th!!:yeah:

I just wanted to say CONGRATS to those starting next semester. I graduate this December. My class has gone through ALL of the changes. It's been a rough ride. Many changes are yet to come. So, when you start the program, keep a positive attitude. Your perception of nursing school will soon define how "hard" it seems. Have some tolerance and compassion for the nursing instructors who are struggling to teach upwards of 150 students (because they aren't just teaching YOUR class). And, spend time actually reading your books. While they make great paperweights and decorative items, they are best used studying. I have 138 days left (not that I'm counting down) and it has been a time of growth, for sure.
