Well, before I even finished my probation period I got promoted. Just think, I nearly did not go job hunting because I thought nobody would hire me because of my wheelchair. I just can't tell you how thrilled I was to be offered this wonderful job in this wonderful facility.
I am now the shiny new Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (I told them I would need 2 or 3 ID badges to put that on). I have looked at the specialty forums, since it seems I am now a specialist...it says so in my title...but don't see the one that fits me.
Can anybody recommend any good books or informational sites on this subject? They have never had a CDI Specialist in my little facility before, and nobody there has ever worked with one or really has any idea what they do, so I'm looking for some good advice. After I finish my current classes, I will probably take the AHIMA classes, but I need to get started now.
