I am studying an IV study guide for the 30 hour LPN IV training course. I was not able to find these 3 answers in the IV study guide. I then went to google to search and have found different points of view. Google said that both tachycardia and bradycardia are signs of a blood transfusion reaction. So now I am here hoping that someone here can figure out the BEST answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks;)
Is it answer a or c?

For question number one: C. Always mold the new dressing around the catheter/securement device.
For question number two: The pt usually has tachycardia with hypotension.
For question number three: In the presence of hypocalcemia, a patient may have a Trousseau sign with a carpal spasm of the thumb. Check calcium level.
Thanks IVRUS. I appreciate your help. So just one question left. I am sure that checking the calcium level would be the right answer. Unfortunately, they don't have that answer listed. My guess for the 3rd question is to a. assess for Babinski reflex. However b. Check for Chvostek's sign also sounds like a good answer too lol:lol2:

Chvostek's is the most correct in the absence of the Trousseau sgn. Good luck on boards
But there WAS a Trousseau sign... Pt had thumb spasms when a BP cuff was placed. So the next check would be the Chvostek's sign, and assessing CA+ levels
