i want to ask if you have a client that have infiltration bec. of complication to iv .what would you do., after necessary implementation, do you start a new iv in proximal to the infiltration or distal?. if the other hand is cannot be use

that depends on the extremity's condition , if in doubt ask help

let's say your iv line was suppose to be in the pt's sperficial dorsal vein. when infiltration occurs; stop/remove iv immediately, elevate extremity, apply warm or cold compress depending on the iv used & NEVER rub the infiltrated area.
observe the area where the infiltration occured: signs of severity of tissue damage. if it isn't severe, restart in the pt's cephalic vein. one thing to keep in mind though when we restart iv infusion, make sure the new site we chose isn't over an area of flexion because this will result to another possible infiltration.
