IV Benadryl Severe (odd) Side Effects

Who here has encountered odd side effects from Benadryl IV? I am a Nurse and had been pushed with Benadryl IV (50mg). Not long after, I started to feel like an impending doom, my throat/mouth felt super dry and my tongue felt like it was pulled backward. Then I started to go into tachychardia like 170 to 180 bpm. The scariest part was I felt like I can't breathe. This lasted in waves for about 10 to maybe 15 mins. Scariest part of my life.

I also found out that Promethazine has the same effect with me when I had CS laat year.

Apparently, I can take it orally but not intravenously. Made me wonder, What can I take during an anaphylactic shock? (Feels like Epi will have the same effect like diphenhydramine).
