Hi! I am also applying for Fall 2014! I have heard numerous GPAs thrown out, but the lowest I've heard being accepted was 3.7, so as long as you're somewhere in that range you should be fine. Plus, I think they accept a larger class size than previous years, so that may help! :) I didn't even realize until I started my online application that there was an essay lol. I wrote two paragraphs describing my work/school history that should prepare me for the program as well as my future plans. I am eagerly awaiting the first week of June! Best of luck to you!

Hello everyone!

I have also applied to this program for fall 2014 and am eagerly awaiting the first week of June. So nervous! As for what is needed in order to be competitive, I have asked many questions to one of the nursing advisors. She told me the lowest GPA thus far, that has been accepted, was a 3.4. They take all of the applicants and rank them, and will take the top 60 for this fall. Best of luck to you both! :)

I am so happy to hear from you both! I have been checking the mail everyday for the past week or so hoping that maybe letters will come early. A girl can only hope :) That is very exciting to hear that they are taking the top 60. I have noticed from previous threads that 30-50 is about all they take. Please keep us all updated if either of you receive a letter, and hopefully we will all get to meet here soon!

Hey guys! Just wanted to update you that I received my letter of acceptance last week. Have either of you heard anything yet? Looks like there is a lot to do before August! Also, have either of you had to do the SAP Appeal? They said it was mandatory as we have so many credits from the first degree. It could take two weeks to find out if I'm approved for aid. :-/ Anyways, best of luck to you both! :)

I just graduated from that program in May. Its awesome. FYI: Don't buy the lab coat and you will only need one of the polo shirts. We never really used them except in 7th semester. The books don't have to be bought UNLESS you want to keep them for reference.

Yes, I also received my acceptance letter! I am so excited to get started! I actually haven't heard of the SAP appeal. What is that, exactly? I was under the impression that you have a cap on your federal loans. For example, I can take out 31,000 in stafford loans, and I have already expended 15,000 of it from my first degree.

Also, KelsieIN, I noticed that we are supposed to register for classes between June 9 and July 7. Does this mean that we can register at any time between those dates? Do you know what block you're choosing yet?

Congrats! Yes, there is a cap for the federal aid. She said a lot of times a second degree seeking student is denied due to the number of credits already taken. The notification shows up on Onestart on my to-do list. I first realized it on my student center, because I didn't have awards to accept. It said I was denied aid due to a credit hour limit towards my degree. If you don't see that, then maybe yours is ok? I did register today and everything went through ok. I don't have my paper with me, but it was the second to last of the blocks.

Thanks for the advice! I'm glad you like the program, I've heard great things. Do you know much about scholarships? I completed the general scholarship application back in March, but I don't know when they notify you that you've been granted one. Also are they still doing the one where you sign on for 2 years and they pay part of your tuition? It's so hard to get accurate info about scholarships!!

In 8/2012, when I started, IU Health offered a $15,000 scholarship to the accelerated students with a two year commitment BUT now my classmates aren't able to find jobs!
