Is anyone familiar with this new program, or know anyone who is currently in the first class? I'm finding mixed reviews about it online, and I just took their HESI exam today. I got a 91 overall, so I have a feeling that score won't be competitive enough to make it in the top 30 students, but I'm trying to remain optimistic!

ysa14, I am trying for March. I'm crossing my fingers that I do well enough on the HESI. That is awesome that you are almost in your 3rd quarter! How are you liking it so far?

Malaria36, the HESI exam is a math and english test that will determine the top 30 students and they sell a study guide at the campus that you will be able to purchase at the seminar. See you there!

Malaria36 and LAD22, good luck on your HESI exam.

I am in my 4th term of the ITT program and can say that it is a pretty good program. My first term made my entire cohort very skeptical, our instructor was horrible, the content was boring and we started when the program was going through some major changes, so we felt really anxious about what we had gotten ourselves into. Luckily my last 2 terms really assured me that this program really had some great instructors that care about us as future RN's and students and not just a paycheck. Just because this is a for-profit school that seems much easier to get into, it is not easy by any means. I am a mom and working full time and struggling to keep up. The only thing saving me is that I had so many classes transfer in. There is no way I could handle taking a full load each term because it's intense. Each term we seem to loose 5 or so students and gain students from the cohort ahead of us because you have to pass with a B and the classes are very difficult. I say go for it, but expect to devote all your time to the program, you will get out what you put in.

Anyone here that has gone to the information session tell me as far as transfer or pre-reqs how that works.

I spoke with a rep today on the phone and she says she belives they only accept grades of "B" or better? I have completed almost all of my prereqs however in my early years I was not the best student so I have my share of C's. The idea of starting over is not appealing.

That's is correct! They only accept Bs and all classes must be passed with a grade of B as well.

Anyone have any updates on the March class? I just re-took the Hesi, and I scored a 93.67 this time, compared to my 91 from last time. I hope that means I get in this time!!! How is everyone else doing?

Hi Marykdarling, As far as I know there are no updates for the March class, other than they are still testing for it. I go to take the HESI on the 16th. I hope I can score high enough to possibly join you in March. How many others tested with you? Other than the HESI study guide, did you use any other methods to study?

Hi LAD22! Good luck on taking your HESI. Are you re-taking, or is it your first time? The people that I was testing with were all re-testers. There were about 30 on the list for that day, but only about 15 who showed up. The average score for my testing date was an 84, but that can be a little off because ITT manipulates the calculation a little bit. I just used the HESI guide to study because every one I talked to said it really helped them, but honestly, it didn't really help me that much. In sections especially related to vocabulary, you either know it or don't, so it makes it really difficult for that kind of thing! As long as you remember basic algebra, and go over the reading comp. guidelines, you should be fine! Let's keep each other updated! :)

Hi Marykdarling, thank you for the info. I will be taking the HESI for the first time, I'm nervous but I just need to keep my confidence. We should def keep each other updated. Talk to you soon. :)

That's great that you're taking it for the first time, because maybe you can take it again before the March class is decided so you can get an even higher grade than before! The second time was much easier for me, and I finished about thirty minutes faster; I knew exactly what to work on. Oh, and bring a sweater. That room is freaking COLD.

Assuming a person has no prereqs fine, or only some, how much does the program at ITT tech cost?

How long is the program, assuming no prereqs are already done?

Do they offer an lvn to RN bridge?

Thanks!

Hi Vintagemother. Without any of the pre-reqs finished, the program costs 52; it is 497 dollars a unit. For someone like me who has completed all of the pre-reqs, it's a little less than 30k. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have even considered the program for the full price, especially when you can take the classes for 47 dollars a unit at a junior college, but that's just me!

The program is 27 months.

They do not offer an LVN to RN program.
