Took me 4 m... hang in there! You may want to try redoing your resume this made a big difference... if u need a good sample pm me & I'll send you mine or go & see your old instructors to get them to proof-read it.

Yes, its frustrating & your confidence is shakened, but you will find a job! Go to every hospital that you want to work @ (& some you think don't also), get to know the recruiter... call her/him every few days. Make sure that you always send a thank you card w/in 24hrs post-interview (so they keep u one their minds). Be very persistent! Vegas is such a it's-who-you-know kind of town. Ask friends, family, former instructors, your dr.'s office (got 1 interview b/c my daughter's dr & NP called & recommended me).

I posted about my frustration... if u want to feel better just look up my old posts! LOL!

Also contact the hospital you did your preceptorship at and see if they are willing to hire you. Thankfully I was able to get a position as a nurse apprentice so when I graduate I will have a job there. Although, I do know a few students who have graduated and had no problem whatsoever finding jobs. They applied at every hospital in the valley and made sure to call the nursing recruiters a few weeks after applying. They both were offered a job like 3 or 4 months after graduation. However, some of that time was due to the NCLEX and getting their state license.

First of all you will find a job, its just that the majority of the hospitals hire new grads at certain times of the year (Jan and May). This is because of certain new grad classes they offer and the amount of training needed for NG. Dont be discouraged if it takes you a little longer to find a job, you will find one.
